Description

AVG ECV15-600 Expansion Control Valve 600 KPA 15mm 1/2" is specifically designed to alleviate the pressure increase caused by water expansion during the typical heating process. Experts recommend fitting an ECV to the cold water supply line to prevent the discharge of hot water and save energy while prolonging the life of the Pressure Temperature Relief valve (PTR). In certain areas, it is mandatory to install an ECV on the cold water line.

Both PTR and ECV valves are safety mechanisms and should be replaced every 4 years. If water pressure becomes too high, it can lead to excessive discharge and potential early failure of the operating relief valve (see table). Generally, the highest water pressure occurs during the night when water usage is at its lowest. For all mains pressure water heater installations, a Pressure Limiting Valve must be installed on the cold inlet if the water pressure exceeds 80% of the nominal set pressure of the operating relief valve.
